Because we’re not Orbitz® or Expedia® or Travelocity®. We offer ease, assurance and affordable luxury. And because you want good, trust-worthy assistance from a solid company whose size is sensibly suited to its purpose. And our only purpose is to meet your travel needs and be of service to you in coming to Mexico. We adhere to the highest standards whether we offer a three, four or five star catagory hotel.

While our goal has never been to be the biggest, we have always strived to be the best and to pay close attention to what we do. We’re committed professionals in our chosen field - which means that when you choose us we always have your needs in mind.

Our reservation office in Mexico is located a few blocks from Oaxaca’s main square and just across the street from Santo Domingo - one of the most beautiful churches in the world - and we can see it from our window. We have a little balcony that overlooks Alcala street and we also have internet presence and encrypted electronic funds transfer, a secure on-line booking engine and state-of-the-art reservation system - thanks to the people in our U.S. office who do all that for us. They are incorporated in the state of Illinois, but prefer the warm weather of Florida. Who wouldn't ?

We’re definitely not a dot.com company in search of something to sell. And we were here long before the internet took over the landscape. Computers sometimes make interacting inflexible and shallow. At Zapotel/ Oaxaca Hotel Group, there is a living breathing person behind every interaction. We've been welcoming people to Oaxaca and other parts of Mexico for over 20 years. When you make a booking with us we do require payment, but wouldn't think of charging that until we make sure that everything is as it should be, as you want it to be. It's important to us that we can keep our promise to you.

Orbitz® says they represent 40,000 hotels worldwide. Now that’s a lot of hotels to be involved with. We represent eighteen of the best hotels and resorts in Mexico. Eight in the state of in Oaxaca. We know all the hotels very well and we have the opportunity to visit each other from time to time. We know the general managers, the people at the front desk, the reservations manager. We and our hotel colleagues stay in close touch with each other in order to serve you better. It’s a mutual commitment we’ve made.

And Expedia® says that it reaches more than nine million travelers each month. Well, that’s a lot of people to care about. We only reach people like you who are interested in coming to visit us here in Oaxaca or at the all-inclusive Dreams and Secrets Resorts. The truth is, we don’t have enough rooms to host 9,000,000 people in a year.

We don’t sell advertising on our sites, we don’t leave cookies on your site or ask you to sign in and become a member of something.

Resort Vacations To Go® says they have "more than 24,000,000 [twenty-four million] registered members worldwide". We don't have any members. Just a group of satisfied clients. We don’t have flashing lights or banners. We make our way by doing a good job of serving you the way people used to do. We always try to be clear and direct and to practice good computer manners.

And we still love Oaxaca for many of the same reasons you might. We have warm and friendly people, great food, beautiful architecture, near perfect weather and wonderful arts and crafts.

And on balmy sunny afternoons in Oaxaca when the sky is sharp and clear blue, you'll find young couples holding hands, strolling through the plaza; while other couples with children walk home from the market, arms filled with fruits and vegetables and flowers. Older folks sit on the benches in the square, watching some young business type rushing ahead, shaking their heads and wondering to themselves, “What's all the hurry about?”

I read a few other reviews about them and most seemed positive. There was one that stood out as negative but it sounded like the couple just had one of those "bad experiences" and that Zapotel wasnt at fault. Hope this helps!"
